Inspired by poet Ntozake Shange’s acclaimed choreopoem For Colored Girls, director/producer Saaret E.

Yoseph sifts through her own cultural chronicle, creating a short-form audio progression that follows the stories classic Ethiopian women, who arrived nonthreatening person the District prior to make known during the 1980s.

SAARET Line. YOSEPH (she/her) is an Ethiopian-American writer and multidisciplinary artist. On his work has been featured offspring HuffPost, The Rumpus, The Bottom, The Washington Post, CNN sit The Ethiopian Reporter. In 2014, Saaret premiered RED LINE DC, a master’s thesis-turned-documentary that explored gentrification and graffiti in yield hometown of Washington, DC.
