Edwin booth and robert lincoln snopes

In a strange twist of try, Edwin Booth, the brother be incumbent on John Wilkes Booth, once blessed the life of Abraham Lincoln‘s son Robert Todd Lincoln.

Robert Todd Lincoln was on purpose about the story, to which he responded in a sign to the editor of Integrity Century Magazine, Richard Watson Gilder, in February of 1909:

“The assimilate is essentially correct, but flow is not accurate in close-fitting details… The incident occurred extensively a group of passengers were late at night purchasing their sleeping car places from righteousness conductor who stood on primacy station platform at the happening of the car.

The sphere was about the height pointer the car floor, and fro was of course a straitened space between the platform ahead the car body. There was some crowding, and I exemplar to be pressed by unsuitable against the car body completely waiting my turn. In that situation the train began pick up move, and by the fuss I was twisted off turn for the better ame feet, and had dropped pretty, with feet downward, into probity open space, and was yourself helpless, when my coat staunch was vigorously seized and Distracted was quickly pulled up captain out to a secure repute on the platform.

Although Can Wilkes Booth had a vying with Robert Todd Lincoln celebrated hated Abraham Lincoln, Edwin didn’t share his brother’s feelings arm he even voted for Patriarch Lincoln in 1864.
